Dr Chong Li Choo

Dr Chong is chief consultant for various F&B industry projects and the higher education committee of the Research Chefs Association. Her research interests include healthy food product development, sustainable food processing, and consumers’ attitude towards healthy eating.

Dr Elise Mognard

Dr. Elise trained & practised as a chef, and also holds a sociology PhD. A member of elite international research teams, she’s also led a Malaysian Higher Education research grant scheme focusing on tourism promotion of food heritage, and community engagement & empowerment.

Chef Nadzri Mohd Alim

Chef Nadzri climbed the kitchen ranks until Exec. Chef level, continuing for years before teaching. Now researching Malay Food Heritage, he’s an expert in foodservice systems, sustainable cuisine, food culture, culinary management, product development & curriculum design.

Siti Ramadhaniatun Ismail

After 9 years of working in the Food & Beverage (F&B) field in the US, since 2004 Siti has been mentoring youth from Malaysia and the region to reach their full potential in F&B and culinary arts. She also works closely with local F&B brands to give back to the community.

Chef Aaron Tang

A proud Taylor’s alumnus, Chef Aaron is one of our youngest & most talented chef lecturers. He became a lecturer aiming to share his wide knowledge, experience & skills with students. Though young, he has won many competitions and carries more than 8 years of experience.

Chef Frédéric Cerchi

With more than 23 years of industry experience, Chef Frédéric’s worked in places like Spain, France, Germany, England & Scotland under world-famous chefs such as Michel Roux & Michel Bras. His most memorable moments include winning gold at notable international competitions.

Jimmy Cher

A Taylor’s Hospitality Management alumni, the people-oriented Jimmy is passionate about service. With previous roles such as Senior Exec. in Learning & Development (PwC Malaysia) and Head of Kitchen (The Fish Bowl), he’s an expert at problem-solving to enhance experiences.

Nicholas Thang

Involved in the F&B scene since 2008, Nicholas has worked in 5-star hotels, casual dining joints, local & international chains, Chinese banquet halls & even fine dining restaurants. He’s also set up a thriving F&B consultancy and F&B outlets, including a flagship steakhouse.

Chef Vincent Pang

Yet another Taylor’s University alumnus, Chef Vincent began his career in Equatorial Hotel under the banquet department. Today, he has more than 15 years of experience in the professional industry & academic field, along with a plethora of awards in culinary competitions.

Dr Joaquim Dias Soeiro

Since 2007, Dr. Joaquim has held diverse faculty positions, from Programme Director to Associate Dean for Learning & Quality. A Hospitality & Tourism PhD graduate and a highly certified sommelier, trainer & educator, he’s also done various training sessions across Malaysia.

Dr Puvaneswaran Kunasekaran

Dr. Puvaneswaran’s PhD in Community Development & Tourism focuses on community-based, indigenous, sustainable & cultural tourism. He’s also leading ASEAN researchers to develop an inclusive regional tourism model and has published extensively in reputable academic journals.

Dr Seyyed Mostafa Rasoolimanesh

In 2019, Dr. Mostafa won a competitive ministry grant to develop sustainable tourism indicators. This keen educator is also an editorial board member and publisher in high-impact journals, with other research areas including community participation & urban sustainability.

Hema Letchamanan

Education for marginalised communities has always been a theme of Hema’s career. She’s taught refugee, migrant & street kids, while her PhD focuses on school as a safe space for India’s genderqueer youth. Her ongoing projects include a study on urban poor kids in Malaysia.

Leigh Janett

With wide experience in leading & teaching all Primary School levels, Leigh draws upon strong information & communications technology and Diverse Needs skills, and passion for mindfulness. Her teaching style utilises data-driven planning fitted to each learner’s development.

Datin Sahmalah Sakthivel

Datin Sahmalah sees her role as a facilitator who offers a stimulating & positive environment, guiding learners to explore personal meaning. Her approach involves a commitment to balanced education that considers learners’ intellectual, aesthetic, physical & emotional needs.

Dr Kho Suet Nie

A PhD graduate, Dr Kho specialises in the study of the mediatisation of politics in Malaysia & content analysis. Having worked in the IOI Corporation under the Corporate Communication Department, she also specialises in topics of public relations & corporate communication.

Philip Gan

Philip is an all-rounded media & communications professional, academic, and ardent critic & observer of pop culture & youth media. He has over 15 years of experience in PR and Journalism fields across sectors such as education, online media, print media & social activism.

Marzura Abdul Malek

Marzura is a senior lecturer with 15 years of industrial experience and expertise in areas like public & media relations, crisis communication, youth & community, and online-based teaching. Joining Taylor’s in 2013, she’s put it on the map with many fascinating initiatives.

Dr Joe Qiao Li

Holding a Film Studies PhD specialising in Chinese-language cinema, Dr Joe is a PhD supervisor, film festival jury member, book co-editor & digital filmmaking enthusiast with award-winning short films. He also serves as Visiting Professor to a notable university in Paris.

Associate Professor Dr Anindita Dasgupta

Holding a Political Science PhD, Dr Anindita has authored books, monographs, journal articles & over 30 international publications. Her feats also cover intensive fieldwork in Malaysia & South Asia in the last 15 years, many global research grants and mastery of 5 languages.

Dato’ Faridah Merican

Dato’ Faridah co-founded The Actors Studio, along with Joe Hasham. With a mission to nurture the arts, the multi-award-winning First Lady of Malaysian Theatre has groomed countless artistes, created a string of theatre spaces & enriched lives by improving access to the arts.

Rajalakshmi Ganesan

Rajalakshmi has over 10 years of professional experience in the education field and more than 12 years of experience in training. Now pursuing her Education PhD, she trains on topics such as learning & teaching processes, woman empowerment, stress management & team building.

Dr Wan Puspa Melati

Dr Melati is well-versed in sociology, with a Sociology & Anthropology PhD, as well as master’s & bachelor’s degrees from UK & US. She’s also on the Board of Trustees for NGO Yayasan Anak Warisan Alam and a regional representative for the International Sociology Association.
